Every campaign I build is a collaboration. My clients range from school board trustees and magistrate judges to mayors and district attorneys — anyone seeking office whether it’s in city hall, the state capitol, the appellate courtroom or Congress. I’ve built more campaigns for women than men, and most for minorities — Hispanic, Black, LGBTQ+, young candidates, first-timers and political outsiders. About Me
From South Texas to Los Angeles
I was born half Anglo and half Hispanic, with a mixed-breed name that raised eyebrows at the time. A fifth-generation South Texan, I was raised in McAllen, where my father had grown up in poverty and picked watermelons as a child.
I excelled in school, was elected mayor of my fifth-grade class at St. John’s Elementary, graduated in the top 25 percent of McAllen Memorial High School and studied English at the University of Texas at Austin.
I began my career as a copy editor and writer at The Monitor before becoming a regional features and entertainment editor for Freedom Communications. I founded BRANDO Campaigns in 2014, moved to Los Angeles in 2019 and returned to journalism in 2021 as an editor for WEHOville.com and WEHOonline.com.
I am a proud member of the LGBTQ community and devoted cat dad to my beloved Kiki.
